Welcome to oitto

In the very core of Chiado ,exactly at number 8 of the “Largo do Picadeiro“, this restaurant invites you to experience an unforgettable meal ,rooted in the culture and traditional portuguese food. It started like a dream at an unexpected luncheon and later came true with the best ingredients besides a precise technique. It was like this that Oitto appeared in 2022. This is the first place that has joined as partners Denize Gouveia and the Chef Carlos Afonso.

Oitto is a gastronomical restaurant based on the respect by the tradition and culture of the portuguese products having the taste and flavor harmonized with an exceptional beverage list. Oitto assumes itself as a democratic and approachable space involved in a cosy, elegant, confortable ambient so that the guests can enjoy our gastronomy in full, served with, cared and professional service.

THE SPACE

Each area of this restaurant was detailed planned in order to create different atmospheres:

• The lower floor, is where all the action takes place and presents the style of the “Bistro Cuisine “ however with the portuguese flavors, promoting the concept of dishes and delicacies.

• Gastro Bar is in the above floor. It is where you can enjoy the gastronomical experience of a counter, not forgetting the beverages and wines. The Sommelier, will help you to pick up your choice of dish, cobined in harmony with the perfect wine.

• The Chef’s Table is reserved for groups from 8 to 12 people, and was designed to experiencie an unique moment of corporative dinners or events, with a menu served, based on “taylor made“ style, specifically for the occasion in order to create exclusive moments.

• The Restaurant Terrace embedded in the idyllic building environment of the Picadeiro Square, flanked The S. Carlos and S. Luís theaters. This is the place where a fine menu is offered, with dishes to taste… salads, ceviches, tartars, smoked meats and cheeses, ideal for a sunset or a late lunch. Here we can highlight selected cocktails, refreshing beverages, in order to enjoy this typical Lisbon space.

Carlos Afonso was born in Alentejo in the summer of 1986. From his very youth, he showed interest in creating the art of flavors. He grew up in a gifted skilled family with the passion for gastronomy and for the typical portuguese products. From his early age, he learned to respect each ingredient from its origin to the final presentation. It is because of his passion for the best products that his flair is based.

Adding his inborn aptitude to his studies and experience, he is graduated in management and cooking production, by Tourism de Portugal Schools. Later he upgraded his technique in several different reknown restaurants in Portugal and Europe. Oitto is now his new space where he is responsible for the menu based on local products and inspired in the traditional portuguese gastronomy.
